Terms and Conditions
Last updated: July 2, 2026
These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of Frontfriend, including the Frontfriend website, platform, documentation, command-line tools, generated design-system assets, synchronization features, and related services (together, the “Service”).
Frontfriend is operated by Donux (“Frontfriend”, “Donux”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using Frontfriend on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” refers to that organization.
1. What Frontfriend Does
Frontfriend is an AI-friendly design system for product teams. It helps companies keep design, brand, and user interfaces consistent across products, brands, teams, and technologies, including when interfaces are created or modified with the help of AI agents.
Frontfriend connects design, brand rules, documentation, and code by helping you:
- manage design tokens such as colors, typography, spacing, and other visual rules;
- use reusable interface components, including components for React, Vue, CSS, Tailwind, and related front-end technologies;
- synchronize design-system updates from sources such as Figma into code and documentation workflows;
- expose approved components, examples, and design rules to AI coding tools so that generated interfaces are more consistent with your brand;
- manage versions, previews, and releases of design-system changes.
Frontfriend is not intended to replace your application framework, your source-control process, your security process, or your internal product governance.
2. Accounts and Access
You may need an account to use certain parts of Frontfriend. You are responsible for:
- providing accurate account and billing information;
- keeping credentials, API keys, tokens, and access links secure;
- all activity that occurs through your account or workspace;
- ensuring that your team members and contractors comply with these Terms.
You must notify us promptly if you believe your account, API keys, or workspace credentials have been compromised.
3. Customer Code and Ownership
Frontfriend is built around the principle that customers should own their product code.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- you own your application code, product code, custom components, screens, and project files;
- you own modifications that your team makes to components inside your own codebase;
- you retain ownership of your brand assets, design rules, text, content, Figma files, and other materials you provide to Frontfriend (“Customer Content”);
- Frontfriend does not claim ownership of your product merely because it helped generate, synchronize, or update parts of the front-end code.
Some Frontfriend-generated or Frontfriend-provided components may include or depend on open-source libraries, standard front-end technologies, or third-party packages. Those libraries remain subject to their own licenses.
4. Frontfriend Platform and Intellectual Property
We retain all rights in the Frontfriend platform, software, infrastructure, documentation, synchronization systems, release-management tools, brand, trademarks, and other proprietary technology that we provide as part of the Service.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service for your internal business purposes during your subscription or agreed service period.
You may not:
- copy, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Frontfriend platform itself except as expressly permitted;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the hosted Frontfriend platform;
- remove proprietary notices from Frontfriend materials;
- use Frontfriend trademarks or branding without permission;
- use the Service to build a competing hosted design-system synchronization platform.
These restrictions do not prevent you from using, maintaining, modifying, or continuing to operate your own product code and components that live in your codebase.
5. Customer Content License
You grant Frontfriend a limited license to host, process, analyze, transform, synchronize, and display Customer Content only as necessary to provide, secure, support, and improve the Service.
This may include processing design files, design tokens, component metadata, documentation, configuration files, code snippets, and related project information so that Frontfriend can generate updates, maintain consistency, provide previews, and support AI-friendly workflows.
We do not sell your Customer Content. If we use aggregated or anonymized usage data to improve Frontfriend, we will not identify you or disclose your confidential product materials.
6. Generated Code, Components, and AI-Assisted Output
Frontfriend may help generate or update components, styles, tokens, documentation, prompts, configuration files, and other front-end assets. You are responsible for reviewing, testing, approving, and deploying any output before using it in production.
AI-assisted tools can make mistakes. Frontfriend is designed to reduce inconsistency and hallucination by giving AI agents approved components and structured design rules, but we do not guarantee that every generated output will be error-free, secure, accessible, legally compliant, or fully aligned with your internal standards.
You remain responsible for:
- code review and approval;
- security review;
- accessibility testing;
- license compliance for dependencies;
- compatibility with your application architecture;
- production deployment decisions.
7. Integrations and Third-Party Services
Frontfriend may integrate with third-party services such as Figma, Git providers, package registries, hosting providers, AI coding tools, or analytics and infrastructure providers.
Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party service availability, changes, security incidents, or behavior outside our control.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to connect third-party accounts and share data with Frontfriend.
8. Managed and Self-Serve Use
Frontfriend may be offered in different service models.
In a managed model, Donux may help configure, maintain, update, and release parts of your design system on your behalf.
In a self-serve model, you may manage more of the design system directly, including tokens, versions, releases, component libraries, and synchronization into your own applications.
The specific features, responsibilities, support levels, and pricing for each model are defined in your order form, subscription plan, statement of work, or other written agreement with us.
9. Fees, Billing, and Taxes
If you purchase a paid plan or managed service, you agree to pay all applicable fees according to the pricing, billing cycle, and payment terms agreed with us.
Unless otherwise stated:
- fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly agreed in writing;
- you are responsible for taxes, duties, and similar governmental charges;
- late payments may result in suspension or termination of access to paid features;
- plan limits, usage limits, and included services may vary by subscription tier.
10. Acceptable Use
You must not use Frontfriend to:
- violate applicable law or third-party rights;
- upload malicious code, malware, or harmful content;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, workspaces, or data;
- interfere with the security, integrity, or availability of the Service;
- use automated systems in a way that overloads or abuses the Service;
- process highly sensitive personal data unless we have expressly agreed to the required safeguards;
- generate or deploy content that is unlawful, deceptive, infringing, or harmful.
We may suspend access if we reasonably believe your use creates security, legal, operational, or reputational risk.
11. Security and Code Review
Frontfriend is designed to work with your existing engineering governance. Because generated and synchronized code can live in your repository, you should continue to use your normal pull requests, code reviews, automated tests, vulnerability scans, deployment checks, and approval processes.
You are responsible for configuring your repositories, CI/CD systems, permissions, and review workflows appropriately.
12. Availability and Changes to the Service
We aim to provide a reliable Service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, infrastructure issues, third-party failures, security incidents, or events outside our control.
We may improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue features over time. Where practical, we will provide notice of material changes that significantly affect paid customers.
13. Exit and Portability
Frontfriend is designed so that your product can continue to function without relying on Frontfriend servers at runtime. If you stop using Frontfriend, you should retain the code, components, screens, and design rules that already exist in your own repositories or exported project files.
After termination, you may lose access to Frontfriend-hosted synchronization, version management, previews, AI-facing design-system context, managed updates, and other platform services.
You are responsible for exporting or backing up any Customer Content that you need before your access ends, unless a separate agreement states otherwise.
14. Confidentiality
If either party receives non-public business, technical, product, design, security, or financial information from the other party, it must use reasonable care to protect that information and use it only for purposes related to the Service.
Confidentiality obligations do not apply to information that is publicly available, already known without restriction, independently developed, or lawfully received from another source.
15. Privacy
Our processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using Frontfriend, you acknowledge that we may process personal data as described there and as necessary to provide the Service.
Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect personal data.
16. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Frontfriend is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.
We do not warrant that:
- the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free;
- generated code or AI-assisted output will be perfect, complete, accessible, secure, or suitable for every purpose;
- third-party integrations will remain available or unchanged;
- every design-system change will be compatible with your codebase without review or adjustment.
You are responsible for determining whether the Service and its outputs are suitable for your use case.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Frontfriend and Donux will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, loss of goodwill, business interruption, or loss of data.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid to us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or another amount specified in a written agreement between us.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply.
18. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Frontfriend, Donux, and their officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:
- your Customer Content;
- your use of the Service in violation of these Terms;
- your production deployment of generated or synchronized code;
- your violation of law or third-party rights;
- your misuse of third-party integrations or credentials.
19. Termination
You may stop using Frontfriend at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if:
- you materially breach these Terms;
- required payments are overdue;
- your use creates security, legal, or operational risk;
- we are required to do so by law;
- your subscription, order form, or service agreement ends.
After termination, provisions that by their nature should survive will continue to apply, including ownership, confidentiality, payment obligations, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification.
20. Governing Law and Disputes
Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
The courts of Italy will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to these Terms, except where applicable law requires a different forum.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service, by email, or by another reasonable method. The updated Terms will apply from the effective date stated in the updated version.
Your continued use of Frontfriend after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
